Goghst - You're A Little Paranormal
[free download, 128kpbs mp3]

"You've just stumbled upon an alien radio signal, filled with ethereal, ambient soundscapes. Or maybe you're picking up on a telepathic radio station, run in someone's sleep. The sounds float in and out of your ears, and you wonder if this is the music that ghosts listen to. You wonder if, maybe, you are a little paranormal. This is a journey through an open mind. This is Goghst."

I know it isn't a really astounding number, but I am super pleased that today, my biking blog surpassed 1000 hits in a 24 hr period for the first time! This mainly due to all the Olympic talk I have been pushing that way...posting the schedules for biking events etc. Believe me, I know damn well hat 1000 people aren't tuning in to hear how my lame-o session at the skatepark goes everyday. Still, I am excited, and I seem to have learned the technique for writing subject lines for posts that get pushed up high in the google result-o-trons. Keep it simple stupid.

Something else I am pretty happy about is the rideBikes blwgitty blwg having the number one google search result for "ultra lightweight ventilated uniform". The stats show that this is far and away the most visited post, which I find hilarious because it is kind of a rick roll...I mean, not a real rick roll, but the post shows a very abstract representation of what the subject line indicates. Maybe you should just click the link and see for yourself...

IN OTHER NEWS, well, there isn't really any other news. If you have stopped through rideBikes at all over the past couple of months, thank you.

I'm so stoked Shawn Johnson got a Gold medal on beam.

Balance beam is just freakin crazy. I can't believe the difficulty of some of the moves those girls do. Shawn has this one move though, a 360 spin with one leg pointed up over her head....she does it SO well. It isn't even supposed to be a -hard- move, but it has been a huge problem for like every other girl in this Olympics. Shawn rinsed that move every single time. She would do the spin, and when she was perfectly aligned with the beam afterwards, she would actually stall it out a for like .25 sec, as if to say "when I put my foot back down on this beam you must rek-o-nize and respect, seen?". Style points. She is so adorable I just want to give her a big hug.
I still think Nastia was the real story for 08 though.

NBC has 25 minutes to show the BMX racing or I cry foul and fire off a letter to the board room. NBC, you do not want me on your bad side.

Netaudio Russia is proud to presents our "100% summer release":

Suan - "Emotronic Is The Reason" (Electrosound)

Sounds like indietronica, post-rock...

Sometimes emotions and feelings cannot be expressed by words. Emotronic is the reason. Notes, loops and sighs from the dark well of the mood… Suan is the solo project of Faust, musician from Rome/Italy, and this is his debut album.

Listen and download!

Enjoy! And don't forget to check up brand-new Musica Excentrica web-site!

Check it out:

A good place to post your music or, if you don't make music, you can form a virtual record label, gather bands to your label. Either way, you build up points and then you can take part in auctions to win prizes - everything from a set of guitar picks all the way up to fancy electronic goodies like iPods or even studio time with a world reknowned producer.

This class I am taking has made me want to build a computer. The downside is, I -promised- myself that my next comp would be a Mac. I've been out of the mac loop for a long time. Still, I think I ought to build a comp just to say I've done it. I'd love to pull it off for a reeedonkulously low amount of money too.  Seems like kind of a fun project. I wonder just how cheaply I could pull it off?

Nothing is really happening except watching the stupid video instruction for my A+ class. I seriously want to murder that guy in the vids. He did say something funny today though. He was talking about installing a component into a comp case and said something about "giving it a test screw before you lock it all down and find out you made a mistake". I thought that sounded like a great approach to relationships (rimshot + cymbal crash, laughter from audience...".thank you I'll be here all week")...

Today I was out in the front yard with my dad, who is rebuilding our two-level waterfall/pond. It sits a few yards away from the big white and black diagonally striped lighthouse yard-ornament, that sits on a faux dock with rope railings. The lighthouse is about 7ft tall, complete with rotating light. So far, no ships have come anywhere close to the house ( we are miles away from water, and many many miles away from water that a ship could draft) but I can't help but visualize how funny it would be if one did. Sometimes people drive down the street with boats on trailers and they are going way too fast...I have fantasized about one of those boats ending up in the front yard after the driver careens off the road, and the newspapers all come and take pictures of the boat marooned just inches from the display, to be printed with witty captions for that human interest angle. Headline > The Great Lollis Creek Rd Maritime Disaster. Maybe it would get its own song like the Edmund Fitzgerald, which , coincidentally, sunk on my fifth birthday. Maybe I can get a birthday cake with the Edmund Fitzgerald on it this year...would that be creepy?

I'm kind of scared for my friend in Korea right now. She suddenly had to be admitted to the hospitaltron for some sort of serious procedure which "may leave her with a bit of memory loss". She has been posting updates to FaceBubble from the computer room at the hospital and each one is a little more garbled as they ramp up the pre-operation chems+pills. I'm just worried for her, she is one of my favorite people. She is one of two girltrons in this world that I totally LOVE but not in a moochy moochy kind of way...I lost touch with her for probably close to 10 years, and I don't want her gone again. She paints the most bizarre paintings. Lots of bananas, dicks, santa, and sneaky people peeping through windows. She sent me her book...there were 800 copies published. She could be my reason. I haven't had a reason in a long time. Everybody needs one.

huh, what did you know? The out of stock issue of ESPOSHH!! that I attempted to order right before it ran out of stock in May just was attempted to be delivered today by Fedex.

I just got home from Gil's a few minutes ago and there was a Fedex tag on my door. And I knew I haven't been black out drunk to order shit online in awhile, so this was quite a surprise. A pleasant one, actually. They charged me only face value of the magazine (458 yen) instead of their new retarded shipping charges for the first shipment since oil has gone up. Also, I really wanted this issue since its the first issue that Tomoko Tamogami (Tamo-chin) appeared in Poshh since leaving Ranzuki.

I'm going to leave a real update probably later...... hopefully.

Some stuff has been going on, some depression has been going on, and the latter I really don't feel the need to rant everyday in my journal to bullshit about.

Somehow, I managed to find the word .docs of the next three chapter tests in my least favorite class. They show the questions, all the multiple choice answers, and list the page number where the answer can be found in the book. I didn't know about the page number portion til after I finished the test I just took because I never scrolled to the bottom of the document.

IN BIKEY NEWS, I am avoiding going out to the workshop and shortening the chain on my BMX bike. The locknut on the bottom bracket is stripped also, so every time I ride I have to tighten up the BB every 20 minutes or so. I took the seat off my MTB and put it on the BMX bike. Now I need a MTB seat. Over at my bikey blawg I posted about a $429 seat. You gotta have some seriously fancy butt cheeks to deserve a $429 seat.

At the skatepark, I have learned this trick called a -double peg stall-. It looks like this:

You ride up the transistion, hop into the air and twist, then hook your two pegs over the coping, stall out, then drop back in. It sounds easy, and in this pic, it probably looks easy, but it is NOT EASY. See how this guy has his one foot up off the deck on the flat side to the left...well, when I do them my pedal hits the deck, so they don't look quite as jammin as this one does. Once you get these dialed in, then you can start doing them with some momentum that makes you actually grind along the coping, which is going to be freakin awesome.

I really, really wish now that I'd ordered two of the Uluru bath bombs. The water turned a gorgeous tangerine/coral color. I combined it with half of the Psychodelic bubble bar and it was a lot like taking a bath in a chai latte. *L* It was spicy with the cinnamon and cardamom from the Psychodelic bar and yet citrusy with the lemon and orange from the Uluru bomb. Very luxurious and restful.
